Bharti Airtel – Priority 4G Network: Airtel is offering faster 4G data speed to Platinum customers
Telecom operator Airtel has announced a new programme for its Platinum customers in India. The new program, called ‘Priority 4G Network,’ will give priority to its Platinum mobile customers in network speed, which means that they will get access to faster 4G speeds, said the company in a statement. For those unaware, Airtel categorises all postpaid mobile customers who are paying Rs 499 or above monthly as Platinum members. Those who are Airtel Platinum customers get access to a customised Platinum UI on Airtel Thanks App as well as preferential service at call centres and retail stores, said the company. All Airtel call centres and retail stores have dedicated staff to attend to Platinum customers on priority and cut down on waiting time. Those who are Airtel Platinum members will be part of Priority 4G Network automatically, whereas others can get access to it by opting for monthly plans of Rs 499 and above. In related news, Airtel is also gearing up to launch its video-calling tool. This news comes days after Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio launched its video conferencing tool called JioMeet in India. Earlier this month, the company announced that Carlyle will buy a 25% stake in Airtel’s data centre arm for $235 million. The acquisition, by an affiliate of Carlyle, will give Airtel’s Nxtra Data Ltd an enterprise valuation of about $1.2 billion — over Rs 9,084 crore — the companies said in a statement. Airtel will hold the remaining 75% stake in Nxtra.
