The list of new features include the ability to share upto 2GB of files, mini-thumbnails, group stats, profile videos, new photo editing features, improved People Nearby feature and more. The new update version 6.3.0 is now available to download on both Android as well as iOS via respective app stores. Telegram’s new features Telegram already allowed users to share up to 1.5GB of files compared to the 16MB limit in WhatsApp. However, with the latest update users can now share up to 2GB of files, media, documents on the platform. Another noteworthy feature is the Profile videos, which as per its name, allows users to use videos as their profile picture instead of usual still photos. Users can either use pre-recorded videos from their gallery or record a new one using the app’s built-in camera feature. After choosing to use profile videos, users will also need to choose a cover image that will be displayed in conversations and contact lists. The next feature that has been added to the app as a part of the latest update is Mini-thumbnail. In this feature, the app will show a small thumbnail preview of a shared image in the conversation list page instead of just showing a photo icon. Moving forward, Telegram users can now automatically archive all the chats from people not in the contact list. This will help users keep that conversation page organised and clutter free. The feature can be accessed by heading to privacy and security settings and enabling the automatic archive feature. Apart from these, Telegram has also added a new photo editing feature that allows users to soften their skin before sharing it with someone. In addition, the video player has been redesigned with new buttons, expanding track list and video editor.
